1Subtitles are not enough for a setup video

People setting up a product are looking at the product, not reading the bottom of the screen. A setup video needs a voice in the viewer's language.

Much of the meaning also sits inside the picture: button names, labels, arrows, warnings and step numbers. Subtitles leave all of that in the original language, so a localized setup video translates the picture too.

2What we localize

  • Voice: a natural voice in each language, made with ElevenLabs, or a human voice actor on request.
  • On-screen text: labels, callouts, chapter titles and warnings, re-set in each language.
  • Captions and subtitle files for every language.
  • Timing: scenes adjusted so the picture matches what the voice is saying.
  • Layout: right-to-left text for Arabic, and room for longer words in languages like German.
  • Terminology: part and button names that match your localized manuals and packaging.
  • Units and formats: measurements, dates and numbers written the way each market expects.

3What we need from you

The best starting point is the editable project file. If you only have the final video, we can rebuild the text layers or redraw the scenes in our style, and we'll tell you which approach fits before you commit.

Send your manual in each language if you have it, so the video uses the same part names as the printed instructions.

Tell us the target markets, not just the languages. Spanish for Spain and Spanish for Mexico, for example, can use different words for the same part.

4How it works

  1. Send the video and your languages Add the project files if you have them, and your localized manuals.
  2. Approve the translated script We prepare the voice lines and on-screen text for each language. You or your local team check them before we record.
  3. Re-voice and rebuild We record the voices, replace the on-screen text and re-time the scenes. The first draft arrives about 5 business days after script approval.
  4. Files per language A finished video, captions and subtitle files for every language, in wide and vertical versions where the source allows.

5When a new guide is simpler

If your current video is filmed, long or shows an older model, a new animated guide can be the cleaner route, with 3 languages included from the start. See instructional video production.

Pair any localized video with a QR video manual, and the code on the box opens the right language automatically.

6Prices

For guides we make, 3 languages are included and each extra language costs $49 for a Quick Start or $99 for a Full Guide. For a video from another studio, we quote after seeing the files, because the work depends on what can be edited; see all prices.

Questions

What is video localization?

Adapting a video for another language and market: the voice, the on-screen text and the captions are translated, and timing and layout are adjusted so the video reads naturally.

Is AI dubbing good enough for product videos?

Automatic dubbing can translate a voice track fast. For a setup guide, the text in the picture and the technical terms matter just as much, so we check every line against your manual and the script you approved.

How many languages can you translate a video into?

20+ languages for voice and on-screen text, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese. More on request.

How much does video localization cost?

For guides we make, each extra language is $49 for a Quick Start or $99 for a Full Guide. For other videos, the price depends on length and on what can be edited, so we quote after seeing the files.

Do we need the original project files?

They help, but they're not required. With only the final video, we rebuild the text layers or redraw the scenes, and we tell you which before quoting.

Can you keep our brand's tone of voice?

We choose a voice per language that fits your tone, and a human voice actor is available on request.
