Assembly instruction videos

Animated assembly instructions, made from your manual, in 20+ languages

We turn your assembly manual into a short animated video: numbered steps, the right part highlighted, and voice and on-screen text in each customer's language, opened from a QR code on the box.

1What a video adds to your assembly instructions

A printed assembly manual shows each step as a still drawing. Some steps only make sense in motion: which way a panel faces, which of two similar screws goes where, when to tighten a bolt fully. A short animation shows that exact movement, and customers can replay it as often as they need.

It also keeps routine questions away from your support team. Ringly, citing Gartner, puts the median cost of an assisted contact at $13.50, against $1.84 for self-service.

The video adds to your instructions; it doesn't replace them. In the EU, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requires a product to be “accompanied by clear instructions and safety information” in a language consumers can easily understand, as set by the member state where it is sold (Article 9(7)). Businesses “may additionally” make that information available in digital form, through an electronic solution such as a QR code on the product or, where that isn't possible, on its packaging or an accompanying document (Article 21 and Recital 32). The video and its QR code come on top of the instructions you ship.

2Products we make assembly videos for

Any product your customers put together themselves before first use. Typical examples:

  • Flat-pack furniture: wardrobes, beds, desks and shelving, with each fitting shown where and when it goes in.
  • Cribs and strollers, where every step and warning comes only from your manual; see baby product instruction videos.
  • E-bikes and scooters: handlebar, front wheel, pedals and the checks before the first ride; see e-bike assembly videos.
  • Garden and outdoor products such as gazebos and above-ground pools.
  • Fitness equipment: treadmills, exercise bikes and home gyms.

3One official video for every model

When an assembly step goes wrong, buyers search for the brand and model name plus “assembly instructions video”, on Google and on YouTube. If there is no official video, they watch someone else's, which may skip a step or a warning from your manual.

We make one video per model, so the parts, fittings and order match that model exactly. You get files for your YouTube channel, your product pages and your marketplace listings, in wide and vertical versions with captions.

A QR code printed on the box or on the first page of the manual opens the video in the language of the customer's phone. That is our QR video manual, and you can update it without reprinting. For size, placement and testing, see our guide to QR codes on packaging.

4How an assembly video is made

You stay in control of accuracy: nothing is animated until you approve the script. Every video is designed 2D and 3D animation, with no stock footage and no AI avatars.

  1. Send your manual Share the assembly manual, product photos or 3D files, the parts list and the languages you sell in.
  2. Approve the script We write a step-by-step script from your manual and keep every warning. Your team checks each step before animation starts.
  3. Animation and voice We animate each step and add voice and on-screen text in each language, with ElevenLabs voices or a human voice actor on request. The first draft arrives about 5 business days after script approval, and two rounds of changes are included.
  4. Delivery Wide and vertical videos, captions and subtitle files, and a QR page that opens the guide in the customer's language.

5Formats and prices

Prices are in US dollars. Founding clients get 40% off their first project in exchange for honest feedback and permission to show the work in our portfolio. One-off projects are paid 50% to start and 50% on delivery; see all prices.

  • Quick Start (60–90 seconds): $490 with 3 languages, plus $49 per extra language. Wide and vertical versions, captions and 2 rounds of changes.
  • Full Guide (4–10 minutes, with chapters): $1,490 with 3 languages, plus $99 per extra language.
  • Clip Pack: 6 vertical clips from your guide for $290.
  • QR Video Manual: $19 per month or $190 per year per product, free for the first year with any guide. It opens in the customer's language, with chapters, FAQs, spare-part links and scan reports by country.

6What we do, and what stays with you

We make the assembly video and the QR page. We don't write, translate or certify your printed manual or technical documentation, and we don't give legal advice.

Every step, torque value and warning in the video comes from your manual, and you approve the script before animation. If the manual and the product disagree, or a step is unclear, we ask before we animate it.

Selling in several countries? The same video can speak each market's language; see video localization.

Questions

Can a video replace the printed assembly instructions?

No. Under the EU's GPSR, a product must be accompanied by clear instructions and safety information (Article 9(7)), and a digital version may be provided “additionally” (Article 21). The video shows the same steps in motion, next to your manual.

How long does it take to make an assembly video?

The first draft usually arrives about 5 business days after you approve the script. Rush delivery is possible; just ask.

What do you need from us?

Your assembly manual, product photos or 3D files, and the languages you need. We don't need a physical product.

Which languages can the video speak?

Over 20 languages, each with its own voice and translated on-screen text, not just subtitles. Three languages are included in every package.

Can customers open the video from the box?

Yes. A QR code on the box or in the manual opens the video in the language of the customer's phone. You can change the video or the page later without reprinting the code.

How much does an assembly instruction video cost?

A 60–90 second Quick Start costs $490 and a 4–10 minute Full Guide costs $1,490, each with 3 languages. The QR video manual is free for the first year with any guide.
