1Pairing is where setups stall
A smart device setup happens in three places at once: the device, the phone app and the home network. Buyers switch between them, miss one step, and the device never shows up in the app.
Then they contact support. Electronics brands see about 46 support tickets per 100 orders (Gorgias Ecom Lab), and an assisted contact costs about $13.50 on average, against $1.84 when customers help themselves (Ringly). A setup video answers the same pairing question once, for everyone.
2What we animate
- Pairing mode: which button, how long to hold it and what the status light should do.
- The app: the screens of your setup flow, in order, with each tap highlighted.
- Account creation and the permissions your app asks for, such as Bluetooth, location or notifications.
- Network steps: the Wi-Fi band, hub or bridge your manual requires.
- Mounting and wiring for cameras, doorbells and locks, with your manual's warnings.
- Resets, firmware updates and what the status lights mean.
- Voice assistant linking and sharing access with family members, if your manual covers them.
3Device and phone, side by side
We show the device and the phone together, so viewers always know where to look. Glowing highlights mark the button to press or the option to tap, and captions repeat the key setting.
Every step comes from your manual and app flow, approved by you before animation, and each video tells viewers to follow the manufacturer's manual for their model.
4How it works
- Send the manual and the app flow Your manual, product photos and screenshots or a screen recording of the current app setup.
- Approve the script We map each step across the device, the app and the router, and you check every line before animation.
- Animation and voice We animate the device and the phone screens and add the voice. Expect the first draft about 5 business days after you sign off the script, with two rounds of changes included.
- Files and QR code Wide and vertical versions, captions, subtitle files and a print-ready QR code for the box.
5When your app changes
Apps change more often than hardware. Because our scenes are designed, not filmed, we can update the app screens in the scenes that changed.
With a QR video manual, the code on the box keeps working and opens the new version, with no reprint.
6Languages and channels
Each guide can speak 20+ languages, with translated on-screen text and voice. If your app is localized, we show its screens in each language. Use the guide on your product page, in your app's help section, on your Amazon listing and behind the QR code on the box.
7Prices
A Quick Start for one device costs $490 with 3 languages. A Full Guide with chapters for installation, app setup, daily use and troubleshooting costs $1,490. The QR video manual is free for the first year with any guide; see all prices.
Questions
Can you show our app screens?
Yes. Send screenshots or a screen recording of the current setup flow. We redraw the screens in the video style and highlight each tap.
What if the app changes after delivery?
Send us the new screens and we'll update the scenes that show them. With the QR video manual, the same code on the box opens the updated video.
Can the video run inside our app?
Yes. You get the video and subtitle files, so your app team can add them to onboarding or help screens.
Do you cover installs that need wiring?
We show only what your manual shows, with its warnings. If your manual says to use a qualified electrician, the video says so too.
Can one video cover several devices?
A starter kit with a hub and sensors can work as one guide with chapters. Very different devices are clearer as separate quick starts.
Which languages can you do?
More than 20, each with its own voice and on-screen text, from Spanish and German to Turkish, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese. Three are included in every package.
