3D printer setup videos: from unboxing to the first good print

A new 3D printer has transport locks to remove, a bed to level or calibrate, filament to load and a slicer to set up. We turn your manual into an animated guide that gets new owners to their first good print.

1Setup spans hardware, firmware and software

A first print touches the printer, its menus and the slicer on a computer or phone. A printed page can show where a screw is; it can't show how the first layer should look.

When setup goes wrong, owners write to support or send the printer back. Electronics brands see about 46 support tickets per 100 orders (Gorgias Ecom Lab), and across all categories an estimated 19.3% of online sales were expected to be returned in 2025 (NRF and Happy Returns).

2What we animate

  • Unboxing, removing transport screws and foam, and assembly if your printer ships in parts.
  • Bed leveling or automatic calibration, the way your printer does it.
  • Calibration routines such as flow or vibration compensation, if your firmware runs them.
  • Loading and changing filament, including multi-material units if you make them.
  • The first print: the test file your manual recommends and what a good first layer looks like.
  • Slicer setup: the profile and settings your manual recommends.
  • Maintenance: nozzle, build plate, lubrication, filters and firmware updates on your schedule.

3Show what the manual can't

Animation can zoom into the nozzle, show the gap under it and slow down the first layer. Close-ups make the difference between a bed that is level and one that only looks level. Highlights mark the knob or menu item, and menu paths appear as captions viewers can pause on.

Everything comes from your manual and your official settings, approved by you before animation. Each video tells users to follow the manufacturer's manual for their model.

4How it works

  1. Send your manual and settings Your manual, photos or 3D files, screenshots of the printer menus and the slicer profile you recommend.
  2. Approve the script We write each step, menu path and setting from your manual. Your team checks them before animation.
  3. Animation and voice We animate the hardware steps, redraw the menus and slicer screens, and add the voice. You see a first draft about 5 business days after approving the script.
  4. Files and QR code Videos per language, captions, subtitle files and a QR code for the frame or the box.

5Maintenance clips

Short vertical clips work well for your support center and social channels: cleaning the build plate, changing the nozzle or clearing a jam, as your manual describes. A Clip Pack gives you 6 of them for $290.

6Languages and formats

Each guide can speak 20+ languages with translated on-screen text and voice. A QR video manual on the frame or the box opens the guide in the owner's language, with chapters for setup, use and maintenance.

Already have tutorials in English? We can localize your existing videos too.

7Prices

Questions

How long should a 3D printer setup video be?

For a printer that ships assembled, unboxing to the first print can fit a 60–90 second quick start. Kits, multi-material units and maintenance fit better in a 4–10 minute Full Guide with chapters.

Can you show our slicer software?

Yes. Send screenshots or a screen recording, and we'll redraw the screens and highlight each setting.

Do you make videos for resin printers?

Yes, following your manual, including its handling and safety steps for resin.

Can you turn our maintenance schedule into a video?

Yes. We turn the maintenance table in your manual into a short guide with a chapter per task.

What if our firmware changes?

Let us know what changed in the menus or the steps, and we'll redo those scenes. With a QR video manual, the code on the printer opens the new version.

Can we use the video on Amazon?

Yes. We deliver formats for listing videos and A+ content, without prices, promotions or review requests.
